TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION

Seed Production Division

• This is where improved Tenera Oil Palm Seeds are produced. • The Institute has the capacity to produce 10 million fresh Tenera hybrid planting materials annually.

THE ACTIVITIES OF THE DIVISION

• Seed Germination

NURSERY DIVISION

• The Division raises and maintains stocks of oil palm seed-lets and seedlings, coconut palm, and assortment of ornamental palms and a wide variety of fruit tree seedlings, flowers, some grasses, etc. which are sold to the public on demand.

AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING RESEARCH DIVISION

• The production outfit of the Division is engaged in the fabrication of small scale processing equipment (SSPE) & other machines for the processing of mandate crops of the Institute, namely: oil palm, coconut palm, date palm, raphia palm and shea tree.

PALM WINE BOTTLING UNIT

The Palm Wine Bottling Unit (PWBU) of NIFOR Main Station is engaged in the bottling and preservation of fresh palm wine from Raphia palms which produces more copiously than other palms and forms the basis of commercial production of bottled natural palm wine beverage.
